Trio Contraste

The repertoire is very large from classical to contemporary or show pieces.

The most important Romanian composers dedicated works for the Trio: Anatol Vieru, Aurel Stroe, Stefan Niculescu, Nicolae Brandus, Octavian Nemescu, Corneliu Dan Georgescu, Eugen Wendel, Doina Rotaru, Violeta Dinescu, Dan Dediu, George Balint, Petru Stoianov, Diana Rotaru etc.

Also many other composers wrote for Trio Contraste like: A. Ince (Turkey), B. Strobl (Austria), H. Lhose, H.Yung, Heider, Biller, Keller (Germany), G. Beccera (Chile) etc. For most of them Trio Contraste recorded CD’s. Trio Contraste has its own arrangements for the classical repertoire and show pieces: Tchaikovski, Mozart, Brahms, Sarasate, Mascagni, Bernstein, Gershwin, Anderson,

Copland, Brubeck, Jobim, Piazzola etc. Also Trio is performing gipsy music (Russian, Bulgarian, Hungarian, Romanian) and Romanian folk music.

They perform also the music for the last movie by Murnau - Tabu. The music was written by Violeta Dinescu and arranged for Trio by Sorin Petrescu.
