Monica Anghel is a very well known name in the Romanian pop music field.

Her popularity vanished the concept of “fashion model” type of artist. At only 30 years old she was awarded with the Grand trophy to 11 International Festivals. She has an exceptional voice combined with a strong character and exquisite sense of humour.

Her professional debut was at 14 years old at the Bucharest Festival in 1986 when she was awarded with the first important prize. In the same year she received the First Prize at the Mamaia Festival.

Had many collaborations with important composers from Romania but the one that wrote the songs that were awarded in all the international contests is Cornel Fugaru. She received twice the Grand Trophy in Australia and was awarded in Macedonia, Finland and Germany.

She represented Romania in many contests as: Cerbul de Aur Festival, Brasov were she was awarded with the Grand Prize and, together with Marcel Pavel, to Eurovision 2002.

She participated to numerous concerts and tours outside of the country.
